The Anonymous People is a feature documentary film about the more than 23 million Americans living in long-term recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction. Alderman at large Jack Connolly is having a campaign kickoff and birthday celebration this week, Thursday night, May 21, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Tony C’s, Assembly Row. Jack usually gathers a large crowd. He’s always been on top of things happening here in the city.

The 6th Annual Carnival@SomerStreets is coming up on Sunday, June 7 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. East Somerville Main Streets will partner with the City of Somerville to present Carnival@SomerStreets. Curtatone and the Somerville High School Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) on Wed., May 27, at 2:45 p.m. to raise the Pride flag in honor of LGBTQ Pride Month and LGBTQ Youth Pride. The ceremony will take place on the City Hall concourse, 93 Highland Ave. Mayor Curtatone, City LGBTQ Community Liaison Andra Oshinsky, and a representative from GSA will speak at the event. The event is open to the public, and we invite community members to join us in celebrating LGBTQ youth and the diversity that makes Somerville great. The Somerville Sunsetters are coming to a street near you! The Sunsetters, a traveling youth performance troupe that performs classic show tunes and modern musicals in Somerville neighborhoods throughout July and August, is still booking shows for the summer 2015 season. The Somerville Wind Camp 2015 and Somerville String Camp 2015 are registering for their summer camp programs. Both camp programs will be held at the Kennedy School, 5 Cherry Street, during the weeks of July 13-24. The Somerville Wind Camp is open to wind or percussion students who have played for at least one school year. The Somerville String Camp is open to violin, viola, cello and bass players of all ages, including beginners aged 7 and older.
