Endicott College poet Simrin Tamhane writes of  hypocrisy, and writes about it with pith and wit.

What She Says.

She shares PETA’s posts on Facebook and calls
Herself an activist.
But she’s wearing UGG’s and a vintage leather jacket.
She cries over designers selling fur coats and hats
And then goes on to say “This is a pure Shahtoosh scarf,
That I got for my 16th.”

She says she loves animals but,
She forgets to feed her fish and
Instagram’s the guy’s funeral.
Hashtag poor baby I’ll miss you.
Rest in peace.

She claims to be vegetarian but
Forks up all my bacon.
She also says she loves my company
But I’m not too sure.
